Ayia Napa Information
The east coast of Cyprus is an area of unsurpassed natural beauty with its superb beaches and multi-star hotels, the Ammochostos region draws discerning sun seekers from all over the globe; but this part of the island remains the agricultural heart of Cyprus , where traditional windmills stand with modern aqueducts to irrigate the fertile red soil.Ayia Thekla one of the oldest spots in the area dating back to the Middle Ages, sits in a peaceful setting just a few kilometers from Ayia Napa and a 10 to 15 minute drive respectively from Paralimni and Protaras. A small sandy beach also lies here followed by the quaint fishing cove of Potamos Liopetriou.
Explore the neighbouring rugged coastline of scenic Protaras where you can witness a string of spectacular calm sandy coves of Cape Greko , Fig Tree Bay, Pernera and Kapparis. Stay for the indescribably beautiful sunset or take in the picturesque village churches that date back to the 15th and 16th centuries.
East to Protaras, more pristine sun-kissed beaches spread out and hug the coastline, while just inland the white-washed town of Paralimni boasts open-air tavernas known for their succulent grilled fish and sumptuous local cuisine.
