Spain Information

With its idyllic climate and stunning scenery, it is not hard to figure out why Spain is the most popular destination for those wishing to buy investment properties abroad. The golf courses here are on par with the championship courses in any other part of the world and the stretches of sandy beaches are without compare. All of this is available within a three-hour flight from any of the airports in the UK.

Many people in the UK have a holiday villa or house in some part of Spain. With the wide range of choices in investment properties for sale, where you decide to buy is a matter of personal taste. You can choose the mountains, the beach or a small pueblo, Most of the people who do buy properties in this country try to stick to within 90 miles of one of the international airports and there are many Spanish properties to choose from. With more than 300 days of sunshine a year, why wouldn't you want to spend part of the year in Spain?

Spain enjoys a much lower crime rate than the UK and it has an exceptional road and rail network. The cost of living is approximately 30% lower than in the UK, so your hard-earned dollars will buy you a lot more. Homes in Spain continue to rise in value each year, so while you may be purchasing a holiday home or villa that you can enjoy, you can also invest in your future. When and if you decide to sell, you could really make a profit on your Spanish property.

Everyone knows about the quality of life in Spain. With its clean and efficient health care services, you don't have to fly back to the UK for your medical needs. In addition, life is for living and there is no better place to so that than in Spain. The people are very friendly and will give you a fine Mediterranean welcome.

You have to go through the same process to buy Spanish property as you do in the UK. There are many lawyers available to guide you through the process and our qualified staff will help you every step of the way. You do have to allow an extra 10% to cover the cost of the fees and property costs and this will cover the legal fees, the cost of registering the land, notary fees, the stamp duty and the VAT.

The first step in buying Spanish property is to choose the investment property you wish to buy and agree on a price with the seller. Then you have to place a deposit on the property, which is usually 5000 Euros. Once the lawyer drafts the contract, you make the deposit of about 10%. Within a month, you can have the deeds signed in the presence of a Spanish Notary and pay the registration fee. You do not need to have a bank account in Spain and you can pay for the Spanish property in foreign currency if you wish.
