Sevilla

Sevilla Information

The city of Sevilla, perhaps better known as Seville, in southern Spain has long been known as a very jovial town. It is rumored to have been founded by Hercules and this mythological origination certainly serves to supplement the rich history of the area. The local people put every effort into preserving this legend and many tourists are remarkably respectful of the beliefs of the people. Many suggest this is because the people of the city, referred to as Sevillians, are a very outgoing bunch, well known for their keen wit and sociability. Many visitors, for this reason, choose to purchase property in the city of Sevilla.

Many others, particularly tourists from the United Kingdom, choose to reside in the city for all that it offers in the way of attractions. The Casa De Pilatos is a major attraction in Sevilla as it is one of the more breathtaking features of the city. Various monuments and museums, notably the archeological museum of the city, are components of this magnificent feature and can be discovered amidst the splendor of the courtyard. Of course the aesthetic appeal of the city doesn't stop there as a visit to the lovely neighborhood Barrio Santa Cruz will attest to. It has been deemed the most delightful region of Sevilla and perhaps one of the finest places a tourist can go to see exactly what Sevilla was once like. The cobblestone streets and century old gardens make the place a favorite amongst visitors.

The intriguing architecture is another one of the attributes that contributes to the popularity of the place as a home buyer's destination. Many visitors from the UK eventually choose to purchase real estate in Sevilla because the design of the homes in Sevilla is so fascinating. The older and more rustic areas of the city have an especially charming appeal and what's more, a house can be purchased in these areas for as little as £40,000, and a considerably large house at that. A four or five bedroom home can be bought for something in the region of this price with ease. If, on the other hand, you are seeking to purchase a home in a newer subdivision of the Sevilla you can expect to pay a substantial amount more, anywhere from £150,000 to over £300,000. Still, these relatively cheap housing developments are well equipped with modern amenities and, for the working individual, are situated near the heart of the city.

If the city has one downfall it lies within automobile transportation. Transport by car is nearly impossible as the streets are very narrow, traffic is dense and parking spots are almost unattainable. However, the city has recognized a need for workers and residents alike to obtain a viable means of transportation and as such have implemented numerous bus and metro routes into its transportation systems. Not only is this an excellent means through which to travel around Sevilla but also an environmentally friendly one.

While traffic may be a problem, the climate more than makes up for this downfall. Sevilla has very few days during the year when precipitation occurs and as such visitors can bask in the sun for the better part of the year. Moreover, the temperature rarely falls below 11°C during the winter, which may not be overly warm but well above freezing, and in the summer months the temperature is usually in the high twenties. Those looking to enjoy the outside should definitely consider visiting during the summer as the temperatures are not only at their peak but the city appears much livelier under the hot summer sun.
