The process of buying a home in Yaniklar is not much different than it is in the UK. In Turkey, foreigners do need permission from the military to buy a home and it will have to be in a designated area of the town. This is usually in then resort locations where there are a lot of foreigners at most times of the year. Once you find the property you want, you do have to make a deposit, which can be as little as 4%, but 10% is more the norm. This assures you that the seller will not sell the property to another buyer. Then your lawyer will go through the same legal process as in the UK of making sure there are no outstanding loans on the property. Even though you should be present to sign the final papers, you can give your lawyer the power of attorney to do this for you.
